Which Modem option should I choose?

You can check here what LTE bands your carrier uses and match this against the supported LTE bands of the modems. In general the "Europe/Asia" variant works - as the name indicates - on most LTE networks in Europe and Asia.

Do I need carrier certification?

Carrier certification of devices is very common in the US and less common in other parts of the world.  All of our modems are "unlocked" and generally work with any carrier that uses the supported LTE bands. That said, some carriers - in the US in particular -  might not offer you a SIM card / contract if you do not use a device that is carrier-certified though. If in doubt, please check with your desired carrier.

What is the "FirstNet™" modem option?

FirstNet uses LTE band 14 and is specifically designed for public safety applications (police, fire brigades, emergency services, etc.). In addition to that it also supports most standard LTE bands. If you do not use the modem on the FirstNet network, you should choose the "global" modem option instead.
